"The PhD Vagabond" Producer, Director, Editor, and Cinematographer Cary Williams
My first film is a 6-minute, 34-second short film. It's a dark comedy about a doctor who winds up on skidrow. I produced and directed it. I was also the editor and cinematographer. And even though it was not until AFTER I shot this film that I learned all about the importance of capturing clear dialogue, this film was still NOMINATED for BEST SHORT at Los Angeles City College's (LACC) Cinema & Television Department's 2019 HFPA Award Show. LACC's cinema and television department is sponsored by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which produces the annual Golden Globe Awards. What an inspiring honor.
